401(k) Easy Granted Patent for Software-based "Run-It-Yourself" 401(k)s

LOS ANGELES Southern-California-based Easytec Systems, Inc. was recently awarded a patent for its revolutionary 401(k) plan and software-based "run-it-yourself" 401(k) plan administration system, 401(k) Easy (TM). 401(k) Easy is especially suited to small and mid-size companies, enabling them to manage their new or already-existing 401(k) plans in-house at an average savings of 50 percent to 100 percent per year.

401(k) Easy includes both the 401(k) plan itself (customized to the client's specifications) and the 401(k) plan administration software and companion materials. The package gives companies an affordable alternative to farming out their 401(k) to an outside administrator.

Taking a page from popular "do-it-yourself" business software such as Intuit's QuickBooks(R), 401(k) Easy addresses every aspect of 401(k) plan administration within software that is easy to use, quick to navigate, and very low-cost. Cost depends on plan size: for instance, companies employing 25 people or fewer pay $995 a year; companies employing 26 to 50 people pay $1295 a year. Discounts of 50 percent to 100 percent are given to plans using load mutual fund investments (for instance, plans using Class B load mutual funds are free). All plans incur a first-year-only, one-time $500 plan and software customization and setup fee. Everything except the customization fee and plan investments and investment performance is covered by a 60-day money-back guarantee.

The 401(k) Easy 401(k) Plan
The 401(k) Easy 401(k) plan is an IRS-approved prototype that allows for any of a number and combination of choices regarding plan investments, 401(k) loans, employer matching contributions, employer matching contribution vesting schedules and more. Customers choose what they want for their company plan; free help with understanding the choices and their basic effect on a 401(k) plan is available. Because all plan options are included in the basic price of 401(k) Easy, customers can choose what's best for their company plan without regard to heightened plan fees.

401(k) Easy Plans Mean Investment Choice
Customers choose both the type and foundry of investments they want for their company plan. "Type" means participant-directed discount brokerage accounts and/or no-load mutual funds or Class A, B or C load mutual funds. "Foundry" means the company supplying the investments -- John Hancock Funds, for example. There are hundreds of investments to choose from. All investments available for use with 401(k) Easy are SEC-regulated and offered by known investment companies. The 401(k) Easy website (www.401keasy.com) contains a database of potential investments and information on each. Free help is available with selecting plan investments.

The 401(k) Easy 401(k) Plan Administration Software
The 401(k) Easy 401(k) plan administration software arrives at the customer's door fully customized to the custom plan it will service; the customer's plan choices as well as relevant IRS-restrictions have been hardwired in. The software is built on more than a decade of full-service small-plan 401(k) plan administration experience. It is designed for easy use by non-401(k) experts while quietly meeting the record-keeping and other demands of the investment companies and IRS. Incorporated within the software are plan-specific administration forms and materials for interacting with employees and keeping them informed about and interested in their company plan. A free demonstration copy of the software is available for download from the 401(k) Easy website (www.401keasy.com); alternatively, a CD-ROM copy can be ordered.

401(k) Easy's level of automation makes running a first-rate 401(k) plan quick and easy. For instance, the software generates MONTHLY account statements for plan participants (most other plans offer semi-annual or annual participant statements only), it runs MONTHLY compliance tests to check on the health of the plan (most other plans are charged extra for this service, if they offer it at all), and year-end audit reports are ready and waiting as soon as the December processing is complete (most plans make you wait weeks, even months, for any year-end report information).

401(k) Easy contains all the features one would expect from a conventional out-sourced plan but at a fraction of the cost because the third-party administrative middleman is removed. Removing the middleman also circumvents the delay caused by having to send data out for processing.

Most employers already compile the data needed by 401(k) Easy for their third-party plan administrator (TPA). With TPAs, employers compile the data, forward it to the TPA, wait for it to be processed, wait for instructions from the TPA, then follow the instructions regarding 401(k) deposits, etc. With 401(k) Easy, the employer compiles the data within 401(k) Easy, clicks "Process" and in minutes is told how much money to forward where; instruction sheets regarding the deposits are simultaneously prepared for the investment company(ies) and included with the money transfer. Plan contributions go DIRECTLY to the mutual funds and/or brokerage companies housing the plan's assets, with 401(k) Easy documenting every transaction. Bypassing the TPAs and so carefully documenting every transaction (documentation independent of that produced by the fund companies) not only gets 401(k) deposits to the investment phase more quickly, but it also makes it more difficult than in traditional plans for any malfeasance to go undetected.

Blank as well as annotated federal reporting forms prepared explicitly for use with 401(k) Easy are also included.

Visit www.401k-easy.com for more information or to download a free demonstration copy of the 401(k) Easy software. You can also call Easytec Systems, Inc. at 1-800-660-0050.
